Every wedding has its own atmosphere, so I don’t arrive with the same fixed playlist for every couple. Your music is planned around your tastes, your guests and how you would like the evening to feel.
A few weeks before your wedding, we’ll arrange a consultation to discuss your plans in more detail. We can go through your first dance, favourite music, must-play songs and anything you would prefer me to avoid. You’ll also receive a dedicated online request page that can be shared with your guests, allowing them to suggest songs before the wedding.

Professional Sound and Wedding Lighting
A marquee can look completely different once the evening lighting comes on. My wedding DJ setup includes professional sound and dance-floor lighting, with colourful effects helping to create the right atmosphere once it is time to celebrate.
The equipment is carefully positioned to provide clear, balanced sound across the dance floor while keeping the setup tidy and presentable. The lighting can then add colour and movement around the marquee as the evening builds.
I arrive with plenty of time to complete the setup before it is needed, giving me time to carry out sound and equipment checks without interrupting your guests.

The evening can begin with relaxed background music as guests enjoy a drink and settle into the marquee. From there, we can move into your first dance before gradually building the energy on the dance floor.
Whether your tastes include dance, R&B, indie, rock, Motown, disco, soul or a mixture from across the decades, the music can be shaped around you. Requests from guests can also be included where they suit the atmosphere and your own preferences.
When you book Heard The Beat, I will personally be your DJ. I don’t subcontract your wedding to somebody you haven’t spoken to, so the person helping you plan the music will also be there on the night.
