What a day! On a sun-soaked afternoon at The Ship and Castle, right by the Continental Ferry Port in Portsmouth, we brought the party to life with a full day of music, dancing, and unforgettable performances.
I kicked things off around 2pm with a mix of 70s and 80s classics—setting a laid-back, nostalgic vibe while people arrived and grabbed their first cold drink of the day.
The live entertainment started strong with Die Germs, who had the crowd up and dancing in no time. Their set was a genre-spanning journey with everything from Elvis to Lady Gaga. Whether you were into rock, pop, or dance, they had something for everyone.
Next up was Mick Faithfull, performing as MC Sax. As the sun began to set, he brought pure Ibiza energy to Portsmouth, playing live saxophone over massive dance anthems like Freed From Desire. The atmosphere was unreal—sunshine, sax, and smiling faces everywhere.
Our headline act, Mark Denham as Tony Gold, absolutely delivered. A crowd favourite, Mark performed a set full of Tony Hadley classics including Through the Barricades and Gold—and the crowd sang along word for word.
To close the night, I ramped up the tempo with a big selection of 90s dance hits and singalong anthems like Mr. Brightside. We ended the night on a high with Don’t Look Back in Anger, and the crowd still wanted more! But after eight hours of music, from 2pm to 10pm, it was time to call it a night.
Big thanks to everyone who came down—it was one to remember. Can’t wait to be back at The Ship & Castle again soon!
